A linear phase shift is NOT a constant phase shift. It is a constant TIME shift. You can't get a zero phase shift out of a real system - there is always some delay. A constant delay (linear phase shift) makes the output signal the same shape as the input, thus it sounds the same. Looking at it another way, you can easily create a linear phase shift by moving closer to or further from any sound source. =Spencer
