Sorry about a bit of misinformation that I put in my article yeasterday about
tape head cleaners ... the two safe compounds should be isopropyl alcohol and
trichlorethane (there was an error in yesterdays 's article - trichlorethelyne
should not be used since it is carhas been found to be carcinogenic). Tricholorethane
is the active ingredient in Nortronics head cleaners. (Also , technically it
is not Freon, since Ththeatat DuPont trademark applies only to halogenated
hyrdrocarbons containing both chlorine and florinhurine). Thanks to Phil Karn and
Len Kastner for calling my attention to the error.
