I have some warped records that I want to be able to play. I am told that I can buy a ring-shaped weight to hold down the edge of the record. I have so far been unable to locate one for less than $150. This is an outrageous price. Does anyone have any suggestions?

An alternative to weights, clamps, etc. for playing warped records is the vacuum pump. There is an accessory vacuum pump available - forget the company, see recent Stereo Reviews. Luxman also makes a table with an integral pump that is supposed to work very well. These devices are probably not cheap, of course.
