In the past few weeks I have dumped a bunch of questions on this group on various topics. Now I open up a new one. In reading specs and test reports on FM tuners I notice that a few of them give THD numbers, but most of them do not. They do seem to give intermodulation distortion and S/N specs. Is there a reason for this? Is THD generally insignificant in a tuner? When numbers are given, they seem to be on the order of .07% to .2% which I would have considered a bit high for most components. Also, how do I compare (claimed) measurements at 100% modulation with the same parameter at 60% modulation. And, once again I have forgotten - how is 100% modulation defined for wideband FM when the sidebands extend out indefinately (infinitely?) ? Mark Terribile DodN -!hou5e!mat
