Essentially, the retailers acknowledged the decreasing quality of the vinyl but were stuck in the middle. The record manufacturers took only so many back! The retailers were forced to eat the losses, thus resulting in higher priced/less discounted records for the consumers. Currently, I don't know what manufacturer/retailer policy exists, but occasionally a retailer here in town sells defective records containing distorted cuts. Draw your own conclusions. Even though I support the practice of continued returning of warped records, a letter to the record company may be more beneficial. Open to additional info/ideas, Jason Su hplabs!hp-pcd!jason

Record retailers are allowed to return a certain percentage of their records due to warpage or bad quality for a full refund by the manufacturer. After they have returned their percentage, they must take a loss on returns. David
