I have had very good luck with mail order houses, and have recommended
them to friends. I personally have spent >$2000 at the one I deal with and
have had absolutely no problems. I am aware of people who have been burned
at some other places as they went bankrupt while holding their check, prior
to sending any merchandise. I believe they got a letter from a lawyer
assigning them a number in a line of people to recieve a piece of the
settlement.
I think some of the more important questions to ask are....
1) Do you have it in stock (or does your source of supply)???
2) When will it be shipped, and how???
3) What is your (the turkey at the mail order house) name???
The place I deal with will always try to match or better any other
discount house's price, so I continue to deal with just one known source:
he knows me and I know him. This particular place stocks nothing, but acts
as a middle man and has equipment drop shipped to me from all over the country.
I also have had to factory service on mail ordered stuff, with the factory's
full knowledge and had no problem. This was with ADS, who also controls their
product line carefully, and is a tough one to get much, if any discount on.
Personally I am not familiar with the places you mentioned.
Make sure any place you deal with does not ruin a good deal by charging
shipping as some percentage of purchace price. I have everything shipped UPS
freight collect. It adds a couple bucks to the shipping costs, but ALL you are
paying is shipping costs!!
