The latest chapter in the KLH/AR/Advent saga is a spinoff group
called Boston Acoustics. I first heard of them two years ago in the
Audio Engineering Society convention in LA. Lucasfilm Inc. was using
them as monitors in their digital studio prototype. I have since
listened to them and was impressed, especially with the lower end
of the line. They make some very nice bookshelf models. Their
top end of the line models were disappointing (for the price). They
lacked solid enough bass, in my opinion. Of course, it could have
been the rather smallish auditioning room that rolled off the bass.
One of my co-workers purchased a pair and is quite satisfied.
