I'm moving to a new house with hot-water baseboard heating, and I'm wondering what effect that will have on where I can place my speakers. All suitable walls are lined with heating pipes, and I'm a bit concerned about the heat affecting the speakers. I can't move them away from the walls, either; they're Allison IVs, which *must* be located one inch from a wall. I could use speaker stands, but that would still position the speakers directly above the heaters. Suggestions?

I think you'll find that the absolute temp of the air coming out of the unit is not as hot as you might expect. I have my speakers about 3" in front of the baseboard, and the heat just goes up the back with no problem. If you are really concerned, you should be able to block off the vent directly behind the speaker with a piece of sheetmetal or aluminum. The baseboards come apart very easily.
