[net.audio] Stereo system interconnect

markp@tekmdp.UUCP (Mark Paulin) (10/04/83)

Thanks to everyone who responded to my question about hooking together two
stereos. Our systems are now connected over the 30-foot intervening distance
via a set of cables I *made myself* out of some shielded microphone cable from
Radio Shack. I attached the conductors to the pins of RCA plugs, and the
shields to the rings. Four lines in all (bidirectional stereo) were hooked
up, so that each system thinks the other is "Tape-2". Works like a charm,
with no detectable degradation of the signal. Our house really ROCKS now!
Total cost -- ten bucks.
