It is a good idea to allow your equipment to reach thermal stabilization before
doing any critical work with it (e.g. taping high quality original sources).
Although most modern solid-state gear will work within seconds after being
turned on, you might want to wait 30 to 60 minutes for it to stabilize at
its operating temperature for the best results.
One advantage of newer equipment is that tuners no longer drift as they warm
up like the old tube gear did - in fact tuner drift appears to be a problem
to read about in the history books.
