I had occasion a couple of years ago to examine and listen to a number of recordings obtained through the International Preview Society. The DG and Philips recordings were manufactured in Italy, rather than Germany or Holland. The packaging (boxes, sleeves, and booklets) was not as good as the "original", the pressings were mostly ok, maybe slightly lower quality than the Dutch or German. My recollection is that the prices were not as low as one could find by purchasing cut-outs (at that time I bought my cut-outs at Rose Records in Chicago). My feeling is that IPS is not worth it if you have easy access to good record stores, but is reasonable if you don't. John Montgomery ihnp4!houxd!johnm
