#N:ecn-ee:16600001:000:590 ecn-ee!tony Nov 18 16:19:00 1983 I`m planning to buy a CD player in the next couple of months and have been doing some shopping around. I noticed that the Sony player has a 25-pin D connector on the back. Does anyone know what signals are pro- vided there? I would assume the digital signal is there in some form. The EE dept. here at purdue is getting some TMS320 equipment donated by TI, and a couple of us are interested in building a digital equalizer. I`d like to find a CD that makes the digital signal available so I can interface the two without having to go through an D/A - A/D pair. Tony Andrews pur-ee!tony

x <-- netnews insecticide I am also extremely interested in digital output from CD's (and those digital cassette recorders - how 'bout digital input). Does anybody have one? Has anybody tried interfacing it to anything?

Sorry, folks-the 25 pin connector apparently doesn't include a digital output. Audio magazine had a review of the CDP-701 and was disappointed to find out that the connector housed sundry control functions only. SIGH... I may be wrong but I think I'm not, -- Shaun Simpkins uucp: {ucbvax,decvax,chico,pur-ee,cbosg,ihnss}!teklabs!tekcad!vice!shauns CSnet: shauns@tek ARPAnet:shauns.tek@rand-relay
