I am about to purchase a system, however different dealers are giving me conflicting information. The specific questions I have are: How are Polk speakers? Does the polywhatever material that the cones are made of fail faster than the paper? How much so? I'm considering Polk 10's and AR 58's. How are the Akai receivers? Consumer's Reports loves them, but one dealer said there is a severe reliability problem which caused production to stop. Anyone know if this is true? Alternatives are JVC and Kenwood. Linear vs regular tracking: is the cost differential worth it? Any additional help appreciated. Thanks. (I will summarize answers.) Jeff Halle houxz!halle1
