Over the holiday weekend I listened to a Technics SL-P7 CD player that was priced at $448. The same dealer advertises this player mail order for $433. Although this player lacks some of the programming flexibility of many available players, it sells for LESS THAN HALF the price of the first player I auditioned four or five months ago. I understand that Yamaha has a CD player that LISTS at about $400 in Japan, with discount prices presumably less. It appears that prices are falling MUCH faster than common predictions of the past year. Does anybody want to bet on a $300-$400 CD player by mid-January? Rich Greenberg JHU/APL P.S.
