I would like to know if there is anyone who has either written or knows where
some good software could be acquired to prepare either swiss, round robin, or
quad chess tournament pairings. Any info, names, or numbers would be greatly
appreciated. I am making these enquiries on behalf of the Community Chess
Club of Rochester, N.Y.
Thanks in advance,

I once played in a tournament where a computer was used for the pairings. (This was a high school tournament in San Antonio, and not a USCF event.) After the first round, it was decided that the pairings for the first round were wrong, and this round was invalidated after it was finished. The 6 round tourney became a 5 round tourney, and the computer was abandoned. However, designing software to do swiss pairings is straightforward, and would not take much time. See the USCF rules and guidelines for tournament play if you are not familiar with how to do swiss pairings.
