Does anyone know if there is a significant difference (other than dollars) between the Shure V15 Type V and the Shure V15 Type V-mr cartridges? All I can tell from the ads is that "mr" stands for "micro-ridge" and that this extra tweak costs $30 ($138 vs $108 at J&R Music World in NYC). I currently have a Staunton 881S and a Thorens 115 Turntable, and am thinking of buying a second plug-in tone-arm and so that I can experiment with other cartridges without unmounting the Staunton, which seems to be a bit bass-shy compared to my old Micro-Acoustics 2002 (which was too shrill). I'd also like suggestions for other cartridges I might try. My integrated amplifier (Yamaha 2010, I think) has a moving coil input. My speakers are ADS 910's. David S. Johnson AT&T Bell Laboratories
