b Since the owner of the stereo in our co-op house moved out, I find I need to break down and purchase a receiver. I don't need a lot of frills, just your basic receiver. I've been told that NAD makes a nice one, but haven't yet seen it in a showroom. Knowing my listening habits, 25 watts per channel would be plenty. Does digital tuning make a big difference? Can I expect reasonable quality for $250 - $350? (For use with a $300 cassette deck, a $200 turntable, and $250 speakers.) What features add the highest incremental cost... i.e. which should I leave off for a bargain? Paul Fox, AT&T Information Systems Laboratories, Holmdel NJ. (ihnp4!hou5f!pgf | vax135!hou5h!pgf)
