A friend of mine is experimenting with compression of his TV's audio. He has various circuits working, but is unhappy with the results. The type (sound?) of compression he would like to reproduce is that used by the FM rock music stations. Can anyone out in net land supply us with the methods used by FM radio stations? Specifically, make and model of equipment used or theory of operation. What he is probably missing is the proper band width limiting on the gain sensing portion, or improper integration period (assuming a VCA is used). Please, no flames about WHY he wants to do this.
