[net.audio] Cassette Bias

The correct way to adjust a cassette deck was recently summarized in an
article in Hi Fi Sound (related to Son Hi Fi). The basic idea presented
was that most decks which offer bias compensation as a means to obtain
optimum frequency response, do so in an sub optimal manner. Ideally, the
playblack eq. will be adjusted first with a calibration tape. The tape is
then set up so that a compromise is reached between frequency response
and output distortion. Recording eq. is then adjusted for flatness of
frequency response. (Note the "order"). Finally, Dolby levels are
adjusted for tape sensitivity.
