Not so. The phenomenon has been well documented before. Briefly, Olson, et al, at RCA Laboratories conducted a series of experiments in (I believe) the 1930's with a live orchestra hidden behind an acousticaly transparent screen. One of the classical ones compared plain live orchestra to live orchestra plus white noise. The test subjects, many of whom were engineers and scientists preferred the orchestra plus noise by an ample majority. It se the technical people assumed that hearing the noise meant they were hearing a wider frequency range.}hound!rfg
