Are there any members of the Boston Audio Society reading this newsgroup? I'm a non-local member. I saw a report of a recent BAS meeting in the newsletter of a Cambridge audio dealer (Q Audio), and it inspired me to ask what the current situation of the Society is. Last year's mailings were being delayed more and more; the September newsletter (last of the membership year) was sent out in May 82. Since then, I have received no newsletters, even though I had long since sent in my renewal membership for 81-82 back in October 81. Anybody know what the newsletter publication situation is? Have there been regular meetings all along, or is the Society in the process of disintegration? Will Martin

I can answer my own question about the BAS now. Probably because I sent out this inquiry on a couple of lists, I just received the October-November 1981 issue of the BAS Speaker. In it, they state that they intend to issue six double issues instead of 12 single issues for 1981-82. Also, they are now in the small digest size. In order to make up to subscribers for sending out fewer issues, they intend to offer a credit against next year's subscriptions. Guess that wraps it up. Will Martin

Anybody else on USENET a member of the Boston Audio Society? I might contribute a lot more to the Speaker if I could send it in electronically -- any officers out there? Will ARPA/MILNET: wmartin@almsa-1 UUCP: brl!wmartin

Will Martin asked if it would be possible to submit articles
to the Boston Audio Society's publication `The Speaker' via
USENET.
Maybe I can help.
Assuming its all right with USENET (yeah, anarchy), you can
>> mail << your articles to me (bb@wjh12) and I will upload them
to a machine where BAS editorial folk have access. I am certain
that BAS would prefer this approach also.
