CompuSonics, Inc., the folks who are making this thing, sent me some specs.
Since I thought they might be interesting to you, I got their permission to
copy them for you.  This one is the consumer model--the professional model
is another matter.  All the usual disclaimers apply.

CompuSonics DSP-1000 Digital Disk Recorder/Player

Preliminary Specifications

The CompuSonics DSP-1000 is a digital recording and playback deck for the home
stereo system.  The DSP-1000 utilizes ultra high density floppy disks as its 
magnetic digital storage medium and 32 bit microprocessors to convert analog
signals to the CompuSonics format for storage.  The major features of the unit
are:
    - In-home digital quality stereo recording from any source.
    - Digital recording from remote data bases; "telerecording."
    - Popular home computer interfaces as add-on modules for:
       - data storage
       - music synthesis
       - music editing
       - restoration of noisy source material
