<I wish this would munch the guy who can hear 60Khz> For those of you golden ears enjoying the square wave discussion, I recommend the following CD's to test your ears with: 1. Horizontal Flyback Transformer in G minor, Atlanta Symphony, Maazel, on Telarc. 2. 20KHz Square Waves for your dog, Hewlett-Packard, on Sheffield 3. My Favorite Ultrasonic Burglar Alarms, Your Local Sears Store, CBS Masterworks 4. CD Mistracking Test, Phillips Test Disc. You'll find these discs cleanly recorded with no hint of multi-miking. I recommend these discs for all the golden ears who would rather watch their scope trace than listen to music. Happy listening! Sparky the Wonder Ear

[] You got it,Sparky. Any audiophile that hasn't watched his/her favorite pieces on a scope hooked up to give an x-y plot of the left and right channel signals hasn't really lived. While doing so it is interesting to also listen to the music. Of course the real trip is to have at the same time: an x-y plot, both channnels individually vs time <and> a real time spectral analysis (3 'scopes and an analyzer). hound!rfg p.s. None of your suggested recordings <look> good on these monitors. Better choices would be 1) How square was my permanent wave by Hair Pressings, Inc.(a subdivision of Clairol), 2) Love Life of the Canadian Moose, issued by H.M.R.Moose Callers, Ltd., 3)Wild waveforms I Have Known, Ernest Seton-Thompson records, inc. and 4) Life and Death on the Test Bench, Stereo review (1959). many of these may be out of print.
