FOR SALE: Technics RSM-85MkII Cassette Deck with Alignment Tape -- $250.
This deck is in Technics' pro line -- it's extremely well built (ala'
tank) with full solenoid control, metal tape capability and Dolby B.
Since it's a pro machine (studios use them for cassette masters, etc.),
it's rack mountable. I have the shop manual and the original shipping
carton as well. The deck does need some alignment, however.
Mechanically, everything is in tip-top shape from the heads on down
(very low hours). The deck was built, however to conform to DIN
standards not IEC as all (or most) decks currently are. To set up
this machine, all one needs is a little time, some test equipment,
and a test tape -- which I am including. The deck, when properly set up,
is capable of outstanding performance with rock-solid stability.
Current list price is around $750.
