The recent arrival (finally) of the Sony SL2700 (*) has created a need
for more audio patch cords. (*why* don't components ever come
with enough patchcords??? Grr!) So I'm looking to buy some.
Having had rather poor luck with the trash sold by Radio Smack,
(If I want snap crackel & pop, I'll buy Rice Krispies!) I'm looking
more towards the 'audiophile' grade cables.
Question: which ones are good, which are bad, which are a good value,
which are just a rip-off?
I do have a spool of 100% shielded coax, but the shield is aluminum,
which is next to impossible to solder, even with the special
magic aluminum solder. Is there such a thing as a crimp type
RCA connector? Or am I stuck with using it only with 'F' connectors?
Mail responses, I'll post a summary.
(*) note to pmr: not to worry, Beta HiFi is *analog* :-)
