I would be interested in hearing from owners of reel-to-reel tape
machines (especially 10 1/2 inch machines) regarding the tape they
use. 

I have a Revox B77 just recently calibrated for Maxell UD XLI
Professional Mastering tape. Has anyone used this tape?

What is the preferred tape for high-speed, half-track usage?

I'm told that the German AGFA mastering tape is good, also
AMPEX Grandmaster 456. Most people familiar with Revox feel
that Revox tape (621 and 631) is too expenxsive and not the
greatest.

Revox is located in Nashville TN.  If you call them,
they'll surely give you a list of dealers.  Or rummage
through back issues of Audio magazine.
