I'm also interested in subwoofers. My brother plans to add one to his system soon, and asked me to ask around. He currently has an almost-all-NAD system with a Revox linear-tracking table. He plans to use a separate NAD amp to drive the subwoofer, and would like some suggestions on crossovers (between his NAD preamp and the bass/everything-else NAD amps) and the subwoofers themselves. Any ideas? BTW, he has an M.S. in music. Since his instrument is tuba, he is "into" bass! Gary Fritz {ihnp4,hplabs}!hpfcla!hpfclk!fritz PS: He's also looking at the NAD CD player. (Let's hear it for subject drift!) Anybody heard anything good/bad about it? Does it use the Phillips quadruple-hyperdrive decoding system, or the more pedestrian double-barrel carburetor? :-) Tnx! I am interested in any war stories involving subwoofers. I read the current issue of Stereo Review which has an article by J. Hirsch about them and they sound like a good idea. In particular, I would like to know which manufacturers make respectable units. In the same issue of S.R., DAK advertises a Cerwin Vega subwoofer. Since DAK offers a 30-day trial, I thought I might give it a try. This is my first attempt at posting to the net although I've been reading several groups for the past few months. Therefore, I don't know my full address. thanks in advance, L. Mark Larsen (oper.larsen) larsen@utah-cs Don't shoot! I'm only the oper.
