up where artists have more say that usual, have gotten started and survived until fame found them if CDs were the distribution medium? I doubt that a friend who produces albums of Chicago jazz and blues artists could afford any more overhead. What percentage of the 10s of thousands of vynil records currently in print will ever be produced in CD format? I can't imagine my older jazz albums, bought in trade stores, will ever be pits in a CD. I am considering buying a CD in a year or so, but it will be another 40-50 years before I get rid of my mechanical albatross. Unless someone out there really get inspired about mastering CDs with runs of 200 prints. I love when someone proudly announces another 10 or 20 CDs are available. Jerry Scharf
