[] re: 1/3 inch The responses to this note so far imply that the 1/3" is not a serious problem for speakers. But what about headphones? Will I need a 1/3" SPACER on one ear, or can I even hear the phase shift? Bob Niland hplabs!hpfcla!rjn No, I don't own a CD player {yet}.

No! Even if it is a measurable difference and your ears could detect it, that great signal processor between your ears would correct for it. Just think for a minute how you hear things that aren't being played from you stereo system for a while. Do you always turn your head so that you are directly facing the person who is talking. Does a third of an inch off center affect anything?
