[net.audio] New digital filter IC

Digital audiophiles may be interested in page 105 of the October 22,
1984 issue of "Electronics Week" magazine, which describes an IC
containing eight independent but cascadable second-order digital
filters, each of them capable of processing 24-bit data at up to 125kHz
sampling rates. Price is $57 in lots of 1000. If only one had access
to the samples coming out of a CD player...

The previous week's issue described Sanyo's plans for a recorder/player
which would be upwardly compatible with the current Philips/Sony CD format.
It appears to be some years away from commercialization.
