Digital audiophiles may be interested in page 105 of the October 22, 1984 issue of "Electronics Week" magazine, which describes an IC containing eight independent but cascadable second-order digital filters, each of them capable of processing 24-bit data at up to 125kHz sampling rates. Price is $57 in lots of 1000. If only one had access to the samples coming out of a CD player... The previous week's issue described Sanyo's plans for a recorder/player which would be upwardly compatible with the current Philips/Sony CD format. It appears to be some years away from commercialization. -- --Steve Correll sjc@s1-c.ARPA, ...!decvax!decwrl!mordor!sjc, or ...!ucbvax!dual!mordor!sjc
