I'm contemplating the purchase of a CD player. I would like comments and recommendations from net.audio people, especially people who actually own CD players. In particular: What make/model/vintage player do you own? How much did you pay for it? Would you buy the same player today? Why/why not? If you'd had more money, would you have bought some other variety of player? What sort of other equipment is in your sound system? Where do you think the weakest link is? What sort of music do you primarily purchase? About how many disks do you purchase per month? About how many LPs? About how many hours of music per month do you listen to? How discerning do you think your ear is (Golden Ear self-rating)? Of course, any other comments on the subject are welcome, except please no comments on whether a CD player is/isn't a Good Thing. While I haven't actually decided to purchase a player, I think I've heard all the arguments about the viability and quality of the medium itself. PLEASE DO NOT POST REPLIES TO THE NET. I will summarize responses if I get many. Please re-read this paragraph three times. Thanks, as they used to say, in advance. Mike Urban trwrb!trwspp!urban (UUCP)
