[net.audio] Sheffield CDs, etc

herbie@watdcsu.UUCP (Herb Chong, Computing Services) (11/25/84)

December's Stereo Review has some comments to the effect that
Sheffield's CD releases are deliberately not as good as their vinyl LPs
so that they can claim that analog better than digital. Inferior
backup tapes were used for the production of the CDs and even the
digital backups were not recorded with any particular eye toward
quality and quantity production. Does anyone know how true this is?
