[] Re: portable CD players in the NJ area. I bought two Sony portable CD players at J&R Music World in NYC. They were $299, and they weren't yet being sold mail order. J&R is on Park Row, near City Hall and the Brooklyn Bridge. Call (212) 732-8600 and ask for 'Portables' to see if they are in stock. The player is fantastic ! See the December Stereo Review for more information. Also, Sony is selling certain CDs for $7.99 if you buy a Sony player between now and January, so ask for a coupon.
