[] I think you have to go in from the front on all AR's. Like operating on the spinal column through the belly button. First you take off the grill, if you don't mind ruining it forever - you can always get a replacement from AR - you hope. Then you remove the woofer, carefully and place it aside -whoops! watch out for your wrist watch and that magnet! From then on you are on your own, but if its not visible yet, try looking behind the crossover network(s). Good luck! If I were you, when you finally get there, I would solder the thing so it was always full on, then remove the slider on the pot from the circuit. -- "It's the thought, if any, that counts!" Back in 1964 I had AR-2 speakers. When AR came out with the AR-2a, they offered a very reasonablly priced upgrade kit to AR-2 owners. The principal upgrade was replacing to cone tweeters with dome tweeters. This of courde involved removing the grill. Since there was no way of doing that without ruining the grill cloth, a new one was included in the kit. Herman Silbiger, CGE
