[bug poison] Help! I just bought what I thought was a "made for use in the USA" SONY portable disk player, and discovered when I brought it home that it was the Japanese version... I found out that the AC power adapter is 100 volt and what I want to know is if this there will be any long term (or short term for that matter) harm in using a power adapter that expects 100 volt AC and gets 110 volt AC (or whatever the standard in the US is). If the sales slip didn't say "exchanges only, no refunds" I'd take the thing back and demand my money back. As it is I'm thinking of doing just that as no one told me that the unit was a "grey market" unit, but if there will be no harm in using the 100 volt power adapter, I think I'll just risk the (potential) problems with the warrenty and avoid the hastle (I'll never go to that stereo store again though). Please reply via mail, if there is enough interest I will post a summary to the net. Thanks in advance, -- Chris UUCP: allegra!scgvaxd!engvax!chris ARPA: engvax!chris@cit-vax.ARPA (At least that's what I think it is.) <Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean that they're not out to get you...>
