[net.audio] Great Lies of Hi-Fi #42

"Audio advertisements are biased, deceptive, and 'unmusical'."

It is a common misconception, which some "experts" would have you believe,
that all advertisements serve one purpose, and one purpose only. Nothing
could be further from the truth!

Our advertisements serve a *multiplicity* of nefarious purposes, the least
of which is to sell our products and line our pockets. Our intent, in the
reproduction chain, is always to confuse and befuddle you, the consumer, by
insulting your intelligence, thereby bringing you up to our level of
musicality so that you can thank us.

Or, more simply put, we strive to intimidate you into buying our products.
That some claim our advertisements are bullshit is irrelevant. This is the
reason that even a fool who spouts "facts" from our advertisements may sound
like he knows something. Only the components WE sell can possibly make a
difference in the sound of ANY serious fidelity system.

Take something as easy to evaluate as an advertisement. Advertisements are
almost always rated by how effective they are. However, when asked to sell
a product in the sleaziest way possible, many highly regarded manufacturers
fail miserably; producing only one tenth the customers at 1000 times the
cost! All Sinn/Aimm advertisements are designed to work on simple minds.
We get our customers from the real-world, because in the real-world
customers are stupid. We know of no other company which can make this
claim.

Regardless of how chintzy your system is, replacing your components with
ours will result in sound that rivals even the best live performance. This
may sound like a pretty bold claim; don't take our word for it, visit a
Sinn/Aimm dealer and hear it yourself.
