[net.audio] Meridian CD player

sgcpal@watdcsu.UUCP (Paul Layman [EE-SiDIC]) (03/19/85)

I had pleasure of listening to a Meridian CD player on the weekend
and was truly impressed. After A/B'ing it with three other players
(two different Sony's and an Alpine) I have decided that it's worth
the extra buck's. The difference in imaging was so apparent that I
recommend that you A/B it yourself. Even my non-golden-ears wife
was amazed. I also liked the simple controls and sturdy loading
mechanism. But than again I'm a *strong* advocate of the KISS
principle and don't like equipment that looks like Tokyo at Night.
The only problem is the price of $900.

Does anyone know where it can be had for less?
Anywhere in Canada is OK.

Also, has anyone heard the rumour that the Fed's are going to drop the
import duties on CD's in the *near* future. $12.95 her we come.

Please respond via mail. I'll post the lowest price to the net.

Thank's in advance,
Paul Layman (watdcsu!sgcpal)
