[net.audio] Loudspeaker Driver

wolit@alice.UUCP (Jan Wolitzky) (04/11/85)

I'm looking for a commercially available loudspeaker driver, to be
used as a mechanical vibrator for some experiments.
I need it to have as good a low-frequency response as possible, but at
worst to roll off no lower than 50 Hz. High-frequency response out to
5 KHz is desirable, but must be flat to at least 3 Khz. I need as
much output displacement as possible; 1 mm would be a good ballpark
figure. Linearity is very important, and a convenient mechanical
termination would be nice, too.

Is there anyone out there who knows of such a beast, or anything
close? Please respond to me directly, either by e-mail or phone.
Thanks very much.

From your description I think you are trying to attach something directly to the
cone of the driver (as opposed to in front of it but not physically connected).
Then you are going to use the driver to excite sympathetic vibrations in the
attached something. Am I correct?
