[] Surprisingly, I finally got around to hooking up my CDP-101 player again after the A-B CD2 test. It was not used in the test, but I had taken it along. I got out my scratched CD's and rubbed them with a finger as some genius advised here on the net. One plays right thru with nary a glitch. The other simply tics a bit as it goes thru the worst of the scratch. I now have a CD that simulates a record for a few seconds at least. This could be the result of the finger rub or machine to machine variation between players. Anywhich, it leaves me feeling much better. One of them was my jet fly thru the living room 6 ft off the floor disc and I didn't want to hurt that. -- "It's the thought, if any, that counts!" Dick Grantges hound!rfg
