(*** Replies can be sent to net.audio but i would prefer them sent directly to me if possible. Thanx. ***) OK, here is where all of you sharp audiophiles get to show your stuff. I have been shopping around for the following with not too much success (ie dopey salespeople, lack of variety at stores, etc.): 1) An amplifier, around 100 - 120 watts 2) A digital tuner w/memory stations 3) A pair of speakers Here is what I am requesting: If you have opinions or experiences or think you know something, please send me the information. My main objective is to purchase each item eventually. I am looking for a nice amp (as above) but would like to keep it under $500. I would like to keep the price of the tuner around $200 and the speakers around $350 - $450/pair. Please send make, model and any info you have. Also, if you happen to own the unit, your opinion would be welcomed. I am in no hurry to purchase all three right now (sometime within the next 2 months) so I won't go crazy until I have read some responses. Thanx in advance. [] I would highly recommend a pair of AR-98LS Speakers ($578) and a Sony Top of the line receiver-1984 model. ($309) Prices are from Stereo Corp of America (phone in, mail order). The 1985 Sony goes hog wild for handling Video plus audio. The 1984 model, still avail, is much more reserved about video and has two more station presets. This is slightly more for speaker and slightly less for the other two. If you had the loot, I'cd say go all the way with a pair of AR-9LS speakers for about $975 or so, but the 98's are identical except for the bass end. And a lot smaller. -- "It's the thought, if any, that counts!" Dick Grantges hound!rfg
