Forgive me for misdirecting this if I have -- I recall seeing a recent query from someone who wanted to be able to broadcast over the FM band so that he could receive his choice of music over an FM Walkman-type radio while working on his farm. This is directed toward a possible solution or a device applicable to that need. This could also be applied to the net.audio submitter who wanted to feed his TV audio through his stereo system. I just received an ad from DECO Industries, Box 607, Bedford Hills, NY 10507 (914) 241-2827, for a device they call a "Video Simulcaster". This is designed to pick up the TV audio from the earphone jack and retransmit it over the FM band. It is an "easily assembled" (hmmm...:-) kit which sells for $29.95 (free shipping if prepaid). Claimed range is 300 feet -- for longer range operations, like the desired farm use, you could either simply illegally amplify the output, or maybe feed it into a loop wire antenna which goes into the fields (probably also illegal, due to that antenna's length). I assume you could feed anything into this at audio line level, so it isn't limited to rebroadcasting TV audio, of course. (COD's cost $4.00 more.) Usual disclaimer -- I never heard of these people before; just thought it was interesting that I got their ad just after seeing a couple net inquiries that it would apply to...
