[net.audio] Sennheiser headphone replacement parts

seltzer@opus.UUCP (Wayne Seltzer) (06/05/85)

The foam earpieces on my headphones have fallen apart after 6 years.
Makes them pretty uncomfortable.

Does anyone know Sennheiser's address, so I can ask them how to get new ones ?
(I threw away the box they came in *long* ago.)

Or are replacements available in retail audio shops ?

I seem to remember pads costing about $3 a pair (a long time ago).

I, too, have had the foam on my Sennheiser phones disintegrate. (Some
netters might recall a discussion I initiated by a posting some months
back on the lifetime of foam products.)

Anyway, Sennheiser wants ridiculous prices for factory replacement foam
pads, and you probably have to order them direct, so there is no
discount, AND they even have the temerity to ask shipping charges for
the already-far-overpriced things that weigh just about nothing!!!!!!

I bought some generic headphone replacement pads made by Recotron or
one of the other accessory houses -- about $1.20 (for 4) from a mail-order
place I was getting other stuff from anyway. They had to be stretched to
fit over the Sennheisers I have, but the price was about what they
were really worth, so I recommend you take that route.
