I am looking to purchase a turntable (with arm and cartridge) and a cassette deck. My total budget is around $900 - $1000 for the pair. I have been looking at the Kyocera 801, Denon M44(?) and Luxman 240 cassette decks and a Sonnegraph SG3 turntable with helius arm or a Denon 45F direct drive turntable. Are direct drives really terrible? Is HX PRO an absolute must or bust? Needless to say, I'm totally confused. Therefore, I would appreciate any advice on these units or any other potential models. Also, does anyone have a good store in the New Jersey area or a mail order house to reccomend? Is it reasonable (cheaper) to purchase equipment in England or in another country and bring it back to the U.S. (since I still have yet to plan my summer vacation)?
