Here's a board position that was shown to me approximately fifteen years ago. I do not know the origins of this, though it supposedly came from tournament play in the nineteenth century. Perhaps someone out in Net.Land knows more. I'll present it the way it was presented to me: "Here's the position.", he said. "Look at it for half an hour. You may select to play White or Black and I'll play against you. Five dollars to the winner." This is a fairly provocative wager because this is an end-game position !! White King at A8 Black King at D5 White Knight at A7 Black Pawn at A3 White Pawn at C2 Black Pawn at D4 White Pawn at D2 White Bishop at H4 It is White's Move !! Hope you have some fun with this !!
