Whatever happened to Speakerlab, out in Seattle? I did some business with them a number of years ago, and was favorably impressed (granted I was young and impressionable). Just recently, though, I wrote for their catalog and was highly disappointed. So I wrote an angry letter to a vice-president but have heard nothing. Now I hear rumors they've been sold. Does anybody know what happened/ I get the feeling they've really gone downhill. In addition, I now have the feeling it would be a mistake to order speakers from SApeakerlab, and in fact I really don't know what to do about upgrading my old dead speakers. In response to the question as to whether or not Speakerlab still exists, It is my understanding that they were bought out by Northwest Audio-Video and Northwest Auto Sound. They still sell the speaker kits in their stores, but no longer have mail order. They say that they have dealers in other parts of the country that sell their speaker kits retail.

All of the original principle owners of speaker lab are gone, they sold out around 1980 or so. The new owners are in business for money only and that small company attitude based on satisfied repeat customers is gone. So is much of the value!! The new management thinks they can sell high priced speakers based on the old speakerlab reputation without providing the service that gave the previous company it's reputation. They falsly believe they can make more money by avoiding the personalized service of the past. They are marking up prices much more than in the past again to make more money. I suggest people look for better value than speakerlab currently offers. David S. Mohler AT&T - ISL @ Denver drune!mohler or druxu!mohler
