[net.audio] why there's not a big supply of CDs

jar@siemens.UUCP (09/19/85)

There was an article in Digital Audio (don't know which issue but within
the last 5 months) about that topic. But I'm not sure that you will find
the piece of information you want. I'm also trying to get more information
about the new CD-production-process.

I have heard that it does indeed take a year or more to set up
a CD plant. For instance, the one in the USA was apparently
plagued by vibration problems that took months to find.

Months to eliminate I would believe but months to find? The CBS record plant
in Terre Haute, In. is located directly adjacent to a railroad and two major
streets.
