i have 141,000 miles on my 78 cvcc honda. the pads have been changed twice. i have not replaced the rotor yet. i use a micro- meter and measure the rotor thickness to determin wether they need replacement. as a whole, the rotor should last a while before requiring replacement. if you see deep groves on the rotor you might con- sider getting the rotors resurfaced. if you are plagued with vibration, i'd look into having the tires rebalanced first. that is of course if the vibrat-io ion occur at all times regardless wether the brakes are applied or not. one more thing, you can get the rotors resurfaced without removing them from the car at some places. with brakes i ususally suggest that people do whatever is required to make them feel confident about the car.

Also, if you find deep grooves in the surface, it would be a good idea to bring 'em back to the record store :-)
