[net.audio] Kaepplein misleads!

jj@alice.UUCP (09/27/85)

Well, here I sit in the middle of a hurricane, watching my windows
be almost as all wet as what I see on my terminal.

Mr. K's comments are quite confusing to me. He agrees,
then goes off and uses sarcasm (and has to point it out, too)
to disagree with what he just agreed with, and then insults
recording engineers (some of whom deserve it, some of
whom don't.) and so on.

In his article, Mr. K says quite a few nasty things about
'technocrats' and seems to imply that I'm one, by his
defination, even though I said (using different words)
the same thing he did about the audio industry.

I'm offended by his extraction from context of parts of
my article, and the convenient excision of the place
that I said "If you hear something, and you don't measure
it, you're measuring the wrong thing".

I guess I should expect this kind of behavior on nut.audio,
but it really has no place anywhere, and it only serves to
reinforce various managers' opinions of what nutnews is
all about.

I guess that one could say the same thing about nutnews
that one could say about this hurricane, namely that
nutnews misses the mark by about as far as the hurricane
missed us. Lots of sound, fury, hot air and running water,
but no real substance.

(Fortunately, I don't live on Long Island! Then I'd feel
differently!)
