This was undoubtably caused by errors on the CD, but it brings up an interesting question: how do the various players compare vis-a-vis error correction? I have a NAD 5255 and have been quite pleased with its performance. I don't have ANY discs (of my collection of 40) that have any noticeable clicks or other errors WHEN PLAYED ON THE NAD. On the other hand, I had a Nak OMS-5 player on loan for a few weeks, and I noticed clicks in quite a few of my discs. The Nak seemed to have slightly "smoother" sound, which was nice, but the clicks drove me nuts! I would really have been annoyed if I'd paid $1000 for the Nak (2x what my NAD cost) and got that much garbage out of it. What are other peoples' experiences? Most people won't have been able to compare their discs on multiple players, but what is your subjective opinion? Please MAIL your opinions to me, and I will summarize to the net.
