I was going to have a hearing test, just to see how my ears are doing these days, but I found out that the only place around here charges $75 for the test. This is more than want to spend. I have all the necessary equipment to generate tones of known wave shape, frequency, and amplitude. But, my questions are: 1) what wave shape should I use (sine, square, ???)? 2) should the amplitude be constant over the full frequency range, or should it be weighted in some way? If weighted, what is the formula? Thanks for the help. --- Raan Young (hp-pcd!raan) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ uoregon ---->\ orstcs ----> \ hplabs ----> \ ----> >--!hp-pcd!raan harpo ----> / microsoft ----> / tektronix ---->/ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
